3 Luxury Fabrics to Wear this Autumn 🍂

3 Luxury Fabrics to Wear this Autumn 🍂

Dear readers,

As the crisp autumn air arrives, it's the perfect time to embrace textures that exude warmth, comfort, and elegance.
You know I am a big fan of everything silk, but silk - as luxurious as it can be - is more of a summer-friendly fabric. Thankfully, there are many equally comfortable fabrics that not only feel incredible but also add a touch of timeless sophistication to any setting.

1. CASHMERE
Undoubtedly the queen of fabrics. I had to put cashmere on the top of the list as it remains the pinnacle of autumn (and winter) luxury. Known for its softness and lightweight warmth, it’s the ideal fabric for layering. Whether in scarves, sweaters, or throws, cashmere brings both opulence and practicality to cooler days.

Katarina’s Tip: If you wish to feel extra pampered, search for some cashmere leisure wear sets to enjoy cosy, autumn afternoons at home.

2. (MERINO) WOOL
Wool is a staple fabric for autumn, offering superior warmth while remaining breathable. Usually more affordable than cashmere wool, it still provides a significant level of warmth while being very breathable. Perfect for structured coats, knits, and even trousers, wool brings a refined edge to timeless pieces of clothing that you can wear over and over again.

Katarina’s Tip: If you wish to go one level higher, invest in merino wool which is known for its finer, softer qualities (compared to regular coarse wool). Another benefit of merino wool is that thanks to the softer fibres, it doesn’t itch on the body.

3. TWEED
Tweed, with its classic British heritage appeal, is the ultimate autumn fabric for those who appreciate tradition with a twist. Most tweeds are made entirely of wool which offers high levels of warmth combined with comfort. Tweed has traditionally been worn for hunting and equestrian sports, but its presence can be now spotted in business casual attires or leisure wear too.

Katarina’s Tip: Fashion trends tend to come and go and this year, the tweed equestrian trend is picking up just before the autumn season hits. I am not a fan of trends, but with timeless equestrian fashion I can lower my guard to stock up on tweed pieces that will stay in my wardrobe for many seasons to come.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I feel extremely blessed to live in a climate with 4 seasons where each season offers a unique opportunity to explore elegant fashion from different angles.

So which of these luxurious autumnal fabrics will be your go-to this season?

Yours sincerely,
Katarina
